Facebook Places
Tonight Facebook Rolled out a new service for the U.S called Facebook Places. So what is Facebook Places?
Facebook places is a Gps location based service available to the Facebook IPhone Application or you can access Places from touch.facebook.com if your browser supports HTML 5 and geolocation. This service allows you to share your location with your friends on Facebook. Once you start using the application you can see a variety of places near your location that you can “check in” thus letting your friends know where you are hanging out. In time, you will be able to see all your friend’s history in that place once you “check in”.
The service is Facebook’s response to the uprising of location aware services on the web, services like Gowalla, and Foursqure. With this new service, Facebook is delivering the user a new social experience that gives the the ability to make stories. Since their launch of the Photos and Videos platform, this new service has the potential of enabling any Facebook user to generate new engaging content. A story now is not only made out of words, photos videos and text, now it can be dynamic. It now has the potential of moving with you. Since any place you visit will develop a history, each time you’ll visit it, you’ll never know what you’ll find.
Bonobo – The keeper (video)
After a long series of live concerts and dj sets, Bonobo a.k.a Simon Green took some time and started working at his new album. At the moment all it is know it’s that it will be released this summer. So August seems to be the best time to do it.
Announcing on his website Simon said : “Over the past year, mostly on Wednesday afternoons around 1pm. Myself and Andreya Triana have been working on a record. It’s her debut album, written by her, produced by me. It’s now all done and ready for release on a label that we’re not at liberty to discuss yet, but it’s close. Summer we think. And it sounds real nice. “
The new track sounds a bit different although it carries the Bonobo signature sound we were all used with. Now it is a more mature sound and the voice of Andreya Triana does a bang up job. Massaging a mix of trip-hop and downtempo with a warm rain like xylophone this track is sure to capture your attention.
Andreya Triana is the newes addition to the Ninja Tune family and you can check her on Myspace. Until the new release we let you enjoy Bonobo’s first song of the album.
